32.9.419    PUMPS AND HOMOGENIZERS

(1) Pumps used for milk and dairy products must be of the sanitary type and constructed to meet 3-a sanitary standards. Unless pumps are specifically designed for effective cleaning-in-place, they shall be disassembled and thoroughly cleaned after use.

(2) Homogenizers and high pressure pumps of the plunger-type shall meet the 3-a sanitary standards.
