(1) Representatives of the department or local health authority must be permitted to enter any school at any reasonable time for the purpose of making inspections to determine compliance with this subchapter. Such inspections should be conducted as frequently as possible and appropriate, ideally at least once in every 12 months. The department or local health authority may determine that special circumstances or local conditions warrant inspections with greater or less frequency.

(2) Immediately following each inspection, representatives of the department or local health authority shall give the school administration a copy of an inspection report which notes any deficiencies and sets a time schedule for compliance.
