37.90.460    HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES FOR ADULTS WITH SEVERE DISABLING MENTAL ILLNESS: ILLNESS MANAGEMENT AND RECOVERY SERVICES, REQUIREMENTS

(1) Illness management and recovery program consists of a series of weekly sessions where licensed mental health practitioners provide services consisting of personalized strategies for managing mental illness and achieving personal goals to individuals who have experienced the symptoms of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression.

(2) The services may be provided in an individual or group format and generally last between three to six months.

(3) Mental health practitioners work collaboratively with individuals by offering a variety of information, strategies, and skills for use to further their own recovery.

(4) Illness management and recovery has been identified as an evidence-based practice by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
