37.114.203    REPORTABLE DISEASES AND CONDITIONS

(1) The following communicable diseases and conditions are reportable:

(a) AIDS, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and HIV infection, as determined by a positive result from a test approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration for the detection of HIV, including antibody, antigen, and all HIV nucleic acid tests;

(b) Anaplasmosis;

(c) Anthrax;

(d) Arboviral diseases, neuroinvasive and nonneuroinvasive (California serogroup, Chikungunya, Eastern equine encephalitis, Powassan, Saint Louis encephalitis, West Nile virus, Western equine encephalitis, Zika virus infection);

(e) Babesiosis;

(f) Botulism (including infant, foodborne, other, and wound botulism);

(g) Brucellosis;

(h) Campylobacteriosis;

(i) Chancroid;

(j) Chlamydia trachomatis infection;

(k) Cholera;

(l) Coccidioidomycosis;

(m) Colorado tick fever;

(n) Cryptosporidiosis;

(o) Cyclosporiasis;

(p) Dengue virus infections;

(q) Diphtheria;

(r) Ehrlichiosis;

(s) Escherichia coli, shiga toxin-producing (STEC);

(t) Gastroenteritis outbreak;

(u) Giardiasis;

(v) Gonorrheal infection;

(w) Granuloma inguinale;

(x) Haemophilus influenzae invasive disease;

(y) Hansen's disease (leprosy);

(z) Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome or infection;

(aa) Hemolytic uremic syndrome, post diarrheal;

(ab) Hepatitis A, acute;

(ac) Hepatitis B, acute, chronic, perinatal;

(ad) Hepatitis C, acute, chronic;

(ae) Influenza;

(af) Lead poisoning (blood levels ≥ five micrograms per deciliter (ug/dl));

(ag) Legionellosis;

(ah) Leptospirosis;

(ai) Listeriosis;

(aj) Lyme disease;

(ak) Lymphogranuloma venereum;

(al) Malaria;

(am) Measles (rubeola);

(an) Meningococcal disease (Neisseria meningitidis);

(ao) Mumps;

(ap) Pertussis;

(aq) Plague;

(ar) Poliomyelitis, paralytic or nonparalytic;

(as) Psittacosis;

(at) Q-fever (acute and chronic);

(au) Rabies in a human or animal; exposure to a human by a species susceptible to rabies infection;

(av) Rubella (including congenital);

(aw) Salmonellosis;

(ax) Severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) disease;

(ay) Shigellosis;

(az) Smallpox;

(ba) Spotted fever rickettsiosis;

(bb) Streptococcus pneumoniae, invasive disease;

(bc) Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS);

(bd) Syphilis;

(be) Tetanus;

(bf) Tickborne relapsing fever;

(bg) Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) (nonstreptococcal);

(bh) Transmissible spongiform encephalopathies;

(bi) Trichinellosis (trichinosis);

(bj) Tuberculosis;

(bk) Tularemia;

(bl) Typhoid fever;

(bm) Varicella (chickenpox);

(bn) Vibriosis;

(bo) Viral hemorrhagic fevers; and

(bp) Yellow fever.

(2) Also reportable is an outbreak of any communicable disease listed in the "Control of Communicable Diseases Manual, an Official Report of the American Public Health Association" (20th edition, 2015) in an institutional or congregate setting and any unusual incident of unexplained illness or death in a human or animal with potential human health implications.
